What is Fraxel Dual?

The Fraxel® Dual laser was developed in 2001 by two innovative engineers. These engineers had a vision for fractional laser technology that would help patients get all the benefits of laser resurfacing treatment without the nasty complications that tended to accompany it.

They designed a fractional laser that creates thousands of microscopic treatment zones per square centimeter of skin, causing the natural healing process of the body to stimulate collagen growth and a regeneration of healthy skin cells. With this groundbreaking laser, patients are able to eliminate scars, wrinkles and other unhealthy tissue by allowing the underlying tissue to regrow into a rejuvenated, glowing texture. This is done without damaging healthy tissue, creating less complications and a drastically reduced recovery period.

Why Fraxel?

As a general guideline, Fraxel laser skin resurfacing is a better option for patients under 50. It is a more delicate treatment than Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing, and is intended to treat milder skin issues. Because of this, it actually results in less downtime than most other laser skin resurfacing treatments performed.

On average, patients at our state-of-the art medical spa see results within one week after Fraxel in Beverly Hills. Their skin has a soft glow, and the texture is much smoother than before. Pores have decreased in size, and fine lines have been eliminated.

Areas Treated

All in all, we love Fraxel Dual laser skin resurfacing because it gives our patients the results they deserve. As an all-around skin resurfacing treatment, Fraxel can be used throughout the body to help your skin regrow into its naturally beautiful appearance. At Lasky in Beverly Hills, we use Fraxel on the following treatment areas:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Chest
  • Hands
  • Arms
  • Legs

Fraxel procedure in our Beverly Hills center

As an initial step for your Fraxel laser treatment, a numbing topical cream is applied to your face. Fraxel laser resurfacing is considered non-invasive, but because it does vaporize the outermost layer of your skin, this topical cream helps maintain total comfort during the procedure.

Our Beverly Hills Fraxel procedure can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Your practitioner will carefully apply the Fraxel Dual laser to your skin. It will feel like mild heat on your skin. This is the laser working to remove damaged tissue while concurrently heating the underlying collagen layer to promote collagen growth. In this way, the laser treats the surface of your skin while adding volume and body underneath it.

Recovery from Fraxel at Lasky Center in Beverly Hills

After the procedure, your practitioner will give you guidelines to follow during the recovery period. The whole purpose of Fraxel laser treatment is to allow your skin to regenerate healthy tissue in the skin, so this recovery period is critical to good results.

If you have any questions during the recovery from Fraxel, or wish to consult with us, we are always available. We want to see your results through to the end, so our relationship continues long after the procedure is over.

New protocols for office visits View Update

New protocols for office visits

May 12th, 2020

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted many changes to your normal office visit. These changes have been introduced to protect everyone’s health and safety during your visit. All of our staff have been tested for COVID-19 and are negative. They are being monitored daily as well and will be practicing safety guidelines.

  1. If you are sick, do not come to the office. Call our front desk and we will reschedule your appointment promptly once you’re healthy again.
  2. Please wear a mask to your appointment.
  3. Do not bring someone else with you to your appointment. They will not be able to enter the office and wait for you. The only exceptions are for those who require medical assistance or translation assistance. Additionally, please do not bring any pets to the office with you.
  4. The day before your appointment, as in the past, you will be called to confirm your appointment. During that call you will be asked if you have any symptoms like fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste. You will also be asked if you have been recently exposed to COVID-19 or have been traveling on a commercial airplane within the last 2 weeks.
  5. When you arrive for your appointment, please call the office from your car. A staff member will either tell you to come up to the office at that time or will ask you to wait in your car until they text you to come up. Before entering the front door of the office, you will be met by a staff member who will take your temperature with a no-touch forehead thermometer to be sure you don’t have a fever. They will again ask you if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. You will be given a mask if you don’t have one, as well as hand sanitizer since you touched the doorknob to enter the office. We will stagger appointments so that on the day of your treatment, you will not interact with any other patients.
  6. You will be taken directly to an exam room which has been cleaned and disinfected just prior to your arrival. There are also air filtration machines installed in each exam room which sterilize the air.
  7. Our medical assistants, who will be wearing N95 masks and protective eye shields, will take your history and prepare you for your visit. You will be asked to sign a new COVID-19 consent form in addition to any of the usual consent forms you may be used to.
  8. After your treatment, you will check out while in the exam room and any products you purchase will be brought to you. If you give us your credit card information the day before your appointment, we can handle the checkout without physically touching your card.
  9. Please try to make your follow up appointments during your office visit. With new scheduling changes and staggered appointments, last minute appointments may be difficult to schedule.
