You may have heard the term “FUPA” to refer to the effects of aging and childbirth on the pelvic area in women. The term is an acronym that stands for “fatty upper pubic area,” and it is a reality that many women experience as they get older. Not only does the lower abdomen develop a sagging, flabby appearance as fat increases and skin loosens, but the pubic area itself can also suffer the ravages of time.

Particularly after childbirth, but also as a general result of the aging process, many women experience sagging labia and vaginal looseness, causing embarrassment and decreased confidence in swimwear and intimate situations, as well as lowered sexual satisfaction for both the woman and her partner. Vaginal dryness and urinary incontinence are also uncomfortable, embarrassing, and even painful symptoms that our non-surgical FUPA rejuvenation treatments can address.

CoolMini for Lower Abdomen

One of the most common reasons people seek cosmetic treatments is the persistence of stubborn fat deposits that resist the effects of dietary changes and exercise. Up until now, the treatments offered to get rid of fat have used lasers, ultrasound, or surgery – all effective fat removal techniques. However, they all come with a downside as well: none of them are precise enough to target fat cells alone without damaging surrounding tissue. As a result, fat is lost, but bruising and bleeding occur as a sort of “collateral damage” in the war on fat, and recovery can be a painful process.

Now, CoolSculpt technology takes advantage of the fact that fat freezes at a higher temperature than other tissues, and uses cold to target fat and fat alone. Fat cells, once frozen, dissolve and are broken down by the body. Now, the CoolMini attachment allows for even more precision in delicate areas such as the lower abdomen.

ThermiVa Vaginal Rejuvenation

Many women experience an embarrassing loosening of the labia and vagina as they get older, particularly if they’ve given birth, a process which stretches skin and muscle beyond their normal limits. Particularly during menopause, women also tend to experience dryness and irritation in the vagina, resulting in painful intercourse, discomfort, and emotional distress.

ThermiVa uses heat to tighten the vagina and to reestablish normal lubrication. A thin, curved electrode is inserted into the vagina in a procedure not unlike a typical gynecological exam. Before insertion, the electrode slowly warms and massages the labia before moving to the vaginal walls. The heat produced stimulates the production of collagen, tightening loose skin and bringing back definition to areas that sag, and also stimulates the glands which naturally lubricate the vagina. Patients report a gentle sensation similar to a hot stone massage, and are immediately able to return to their normal activities, including intercourse.

Brazilian Laser Hair Removal

Tired of constantly plucking and shaving “down there?” Consider laser hair removal for fast, long-lasting results, and never have to shave or tweeze again. A single laser pulse can target multiple hair follicles, making the process quicker than you’d expect. Within 3-5 sessions, most patients experience long-lasting, oftentimes permanent hair loss, leaving the skin silky smooth. It is also a very safe procedure, as advanced last technologies are able to specifically target the roots of the hair while leaving the surrounding skin and tissues completely undamaged.

While laser hair removal is a popular and safe cosmetic practice, it is also still a medical procedure, and should only be performed under the guidance of a qualified physician. At Lasky Aesthetics & Laser Center, we take the medical side of what we do seriously to ensure our patients’ safety and satisfaction. Laser hair removal is relatively painless and rarely requires anesthetic, though a topical numbing cream may be provided for your comfort. When you first come in to schedule your treatment, your practitioner will give you detailed instructions on how to prepare in the weeks leading up to the procedure.

Non-Surgical FUPA Rejuvenation in Beverly Hills

In an age of gimmicky you-won’t-believe-your-eyes cosmetic advertisements, and beauty spas where treatments are performed by people with no real scientific understanding of how they work, we at Lasky Aesthetics & Laser Center take pride in maintaining a high standard of medical excellence in our patients’ care. To experience the difference for yourself, contact us to schedule a consultation for your Los Angeles FUPA rejuvenation.

BTL Exilis Ultra: Skin Tightening Treatment

Most cosmetic tools used to tighten the skin, combat wrinkles, and fight off cellulite and excess fat use either radio frequency emissions or ultrasound waves to achieve the desired results. The BTL Exilis Ultra is the only tool that uses both simultaneously, allowing therapeutic levels to be reached much more quickly, and optimizing performance and precision in addressing a variety of skin concerns. As part of your non-surgical FUPA rejuvenation treatment in our Los Angeles office, the Exilis can be used in the pubic and lower abdominal region to reduce fat and stimulate the production of collagen for tighter, smoother skin.

The Lasky Aesthetics & Laser Center is a full service cosmetic facility specializing in nonsurgical treatment. To find out more about the Vbeam in Beverly Hills can help you out or to schedule a consultation, please give us a call today.

New protocols for office visits View Update

New protocols for office visits

May 12th, 2020

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted many changes to your normal office visit. These changes have been introduced to protect everyone’s health and safety during your visit. All of our staff have been tested for COVID-19 and are negative. They are being monitored daily as well and will be practicing safety guidelines.

  1. If you are sick, do not come to the office. Call our front desk and we will reschedule your appointment promptly once you’re healthy again.
  2. Please wear a mask to your appointment.
  3. Do not bring someone else with you to your appointment. They will not be able to enter the office and wait for you. The only exceptions are for those who require medical assistance or translation assistance. Additionally, please do not bring any pets to the office with you.
  4. The day before your appointment, as in the past, you will be called to confirm your appointment. During that call you will be asked if you have any symptoms like fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste. You will also be asked if you have been recently exposed to COVID-19 or have been traveling on a commercial airplane within the last 2 weeks.
  5. When you arrive for your appointment, please call the office from your car. A staff member will either tell you to come up to the office at that time or will ask you to wait in your car until they text you to come up. Before entering the front door of the office, you will be met by a staff member who will take your temperature with a no-touch forehead thermometer to be sure you don’t have a fever. They will again ask you if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. You will be given a mask if you don’t have one, as well as hand sanitizer since you touched the doorknob to enter the office. We will stagger appointments so that on the day of your treatment, you will not interact with any other patients.
  6. You will be taken directly to an exam room which has been cleaned and disinfected just prior to your arrival. There are also air filtration machines installed in each exam room which sterilize the air.
  7. Our medical assistants, who will be wearing N95 masks and protective eye shields, will take your history and prepare you for your visit. You will be asked to sign a new COVID-19 consent form in addition to any of the usual consent forms you may be used to.
  8. After your treatment, you will check out while in the exam room and any products you purchase will be brought to you. If you give us your credit card information the day before your appointment, we can handle the checkout without physically touching your card.
  9. Please try to make your follow up appointments during your office visit. With new scheduling changes and staggered appointments, last minute appointments may be difficult to schedule.
