Flabby upper arms are a source of embarrassment for many women, to the point that they may even avoid cocktail parties, beach events, and wearing short sleeves in general, making summertime a difficult season and causing their social lives to suffer. The upper arms can be a particularly embarrassing place to experience loose skin and excess fat simply because they are so visible. It’s hard to go through life and perform daily tasks without anyone seeing your upper arms -- and long sleeves aren’t always enough to conceal these flaws. Drooping skin and fat deposits can be so pronounced that they redefine the profile of the upper arms, even when sleeved.

If the appearance of your upper arms is detracting from your self-confidence and interfering with your social life, we at Lasky Aesthetics & Laser Center want to help. Our Upper Arm Rejuvenation Package is the best the Los Angeles area has to offer, and it consists of three main elements to have you looking and feeling your best again in no time.

Upper Arms: CoolSculpting

Do you have unwanted fat deposits that hang noticeably from your upper arms? The upper arm is a common area for the type of stubborn fat that resists changes to diet and exercise. When these lifestyle changes aren’t enough, we recommend CoolSculpting as the only fat removal of its kind, freezing fat cells without harming the surrounding tissues. Other fat removal techniques, including liposuction, ultrasound, and laser treatments, are all effective but come with unwanted side effects such as bruising, bleeding, and swelling, as the surrounding skin has been damaged in the process and must recover. CoolSculpting eliminates this uncomfortable recovery period by targeting fat cells alone, leaving the surrounding cells intact and unharmed.

CoolSculpting is a comfortable, gentle, noninvasive technique that has been demonstrated to have a pronounced impact on unwanted fat deposits. After your treatment, you can expect to see a visible, gradual reduction in the fat on your upper arms over the course of the following three months.

BTL Exilis Ultra Skin Tightening

Loose skin certainly doesn’t help matters – hanging fat deposits are made all the more obvious when the skin is too loose to hold them firmly in place, and gravity tugs them constantly downward. Even in the absence of excess fat, loose skin alone is enough to give the upper arms a flabby, sagging appearance, as folds of loose skin hang from the arms and jiggle with movement.

Traditionally, nonsurgical skin tightening has been performed using either radio frequency wavelengths or ultrasound technology. The BTL Exilis Ultra is the only system to combine the two for increased efficacy and precision in treatment. These skin treatments rely on heat to stimulate collagen production and new tissue growth, and the combination of the two methods in tandem allows for therapeutic temperatures to be reached much more quickly. While collagen forms to provide the skin with greater structure, fibroblast production and blood flow to the affected areas also increase, optimizing the cells’ nutrition and waste removal systems for greater overall cell health. Meanwhile, the BTL Exilis Ultra’s cooling tip both maintains the patient’s comfort and allows the practitioner to retain a great deal of control and precision over the treatment process.

Stretch Mark Therapy

Even if a preferred shape is restored to the upper arms, you may still be embarrassed and self-conscious due to the persistent stretch marks that remain even after the fat that caused them has melted away. Fortunately, part of our Upper Arm Rejuvenation Package is a choice of two safe and effective stretch mark treatment options. The first is Fraxel, an incredibly precise fractional laser tool that creates thousands of microscopic treatment zones in just a single square centimeter of skin, allowing the practitioner to effectively target blemishes without causing damage to the surrounding skin.

The second form of stretch mark treatment we offer is Vbeam, which specifically targets blood vessels to reduce the appearance of redness on the skin. It is especially effective in fighting those bright red stretch marks that stand out so distinctly on the skin’s surface. The Vbeam uses heat to constrict blood vessels, lessening reddish blemishes on the surface of the skin.

New protocols for office visits View Update

New protocols for office visits

May 12th, 2020

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted many changes to your normal office visit. These changes have been introduced to protect everyone’s health and safety during your visit. All of our staff have been tested for COVID-19 and are negative. They are being monitored daily as well and will be practicing safety guidelines.

  1. If you are sick, do not come to the office. Call our front desk and we will reschedule your appointment promptly once you’re healthy again.
  2. Please wear a mask to your appointment.
  3. Do not bring someone else with you to your appointment. They will not be able to enter the office and wait for you. The only exceptions are for those who require medical assistance or translation assistance. Additionally, please do not bring any pets to the office with you.
  4. The day before your appointment, as in the past, you will be called to confirm your appointment. During that call you will be asked if you have any symptoms like fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste. You will also be asked if you have been recently exposed to COVID-19 or have been traveling on a commercial airplane within the last 2 weeks.
  5. When you arrive for your appointment, please call the office from your car. A staff member will either tell you to come up to the office at that time or will ask you to wait in your car until they text you to come up. Before entering the front door of the office, you will be met by a staff member who will take your temperature with a no-touch forehead thermometer to be sure you don’t have a fever. They will again ask you if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. You will be given a mask if you don’t have one, as well as hand sanitizer since you touched the doorknob to enter the office. We will stagger appointments so that on the day of your treatment, you will not interact with any other patients.
  6. You will be taken directly to an exam room which has been cleaned and disinfected just prior to your arrival. There are also air filtration machines installed in each exam room which sterilize the air.
  7. Our medical assistants, who will be wearing N95 masks and protective eye shields, will take your history and prepare you for your visit. You will be asked to sign a new COVID-19 consent form in addition to any of the usual consent forms you may be used to.
  8. After your treatment, you will check out while in the exam room and any products you purchase will be brought to you. If you give us your credit card information the day before your appointment, we can handle the checkout without physically touching your card.
  9. Please try to make your follow up appointments during your office visit. With new scheduling changes and staggered appointments, last minute appointments may be difficult to schedule.
