How does the CoolSculpting Fat Freezing Procedure Work?

Do you have areas of fat that never seem to go away even though you maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly? Perhaps you are prone to love handles or you have areas of back fat that do not respond to strengthening or cardio exercise. These and other pesky areas of fat can impact your self-image in both public and private situations. Rather than go under the knife, you can choose an amazing fat freezing procedure to rid your body of these deposits forever without anesthesia, injections, incisions, or downtime.

The Fat Freezing Procedure to Replace Liposuction?

Prior to 2010, there were relatively few options for body contouring. Most patients received liposuction, but not everyone is a candidate for surgery or they don’t want to deal with the downtime. Many non-surgical solutions started hitting the market that offered fat melting with heat and lasers. But when scientists noticed that children sucking on popsicles regularly lost fat in their cheeks more quickly, a new fat freezing procedure to contour the body was born: CoolSculpting.

Today, the CoolSculpting fat freezing procedure is the #1 non-surgical body contouring treatment in the United States. It completely removes fat cells from the body, contours a variety of problem areas and requires no surgery or anesthesia. Plus, with treatments as short as 35 minutes, and our Dualsculpting to treat two areas simultaneously, you can get in and out quickly. CoolSculpting is FDA-approved and has been shown in studies to be a great alternative to traditional liposuction.

Does this revolutionary non-surgical fat freezing procedure replace liposuction? Not necessarily. Some patients will still see better results from a liposuction procedure with a plastic surgeon. A consultation with one of our medical providers can help determine if CoolSculpting will work for you.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

The CoolSculpting fat freezing procedure uses a method called cryolipolysis; this targets only your fat cells and does not damage other surrounding cells. As the procedure begins, you will feel a sucking sensation and some coldness from the topical applicator. Any mild discomfort you experience from this fat freezing procedure will dissipate within a few minutes. Over the treatment session, the CoolSculpting machine will use a precise temperature to freeze your fat cells, leaving surrounding tissue unaffected and undamaged. When the applicators are removed, our medical aesthetic specialist will massage the treated area to break up the fat cells. We may also use Cellutone, a cellulite treatment, which can help break up the frozen fat cells for faster results. Over the next several weeks, your body will absorb and eliminate the destroyed fat cells, and the area will gradually look more even and toned. Repeated treatments are often required to see full results. Once these fat cells are removed from your body, they will never return.

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update

March 23rd, 2020

After serious consideration and in line with the recommendations of our State and Centers for Disease Control (CDC), we are closing the practice until Mid April.

Your health and well-being is our primary concern and we want to do our part to make sure that you are protected.

Effective immediately the following will occur:

  • All procedures and in-person consultations will be suspended until further notice.
  • The office will be available for Retail and PrePaid Packages as well as to answer any and all questions and concerns.
  • Virtual Consultations are available upon request.

We are constantly updating our services and staffing according to the local and national recommendations and will always place your health and well-being as our top priority.

We continue to exercise all the latest recommendations that are handed down by the CDC. These include:

  • Staff have been fully informed and trained to understand the disease process and its modes of transmission.
  • All staff, vendors and ancillary personnel are being asked to refrain from coming to this office if they have any signs or symptoms of a cold or an upper respiratory tract infection.
  • Every patient is also being asked to refrain from coming to the office if they have any symptoms.
  • We are asking our patients about any pertinent travel history.
  • Hand-washing continues to be the most important mode of prevention. Although it is a part of what we constantly do, now we are doing so with heightened vigilance and attention.
  • We have instituted a “no handshakes no hug” policy for now.
  • We have asked all vendors that any unnecessary meetings are canceled until further notice.
  • As we are an accredited medical facility, we are constantly sanitizing all surfaces. We have now vamped that up and our routine, multiple times a day, wiping down all surfaces, desks, door handles, keyboards and restroom facilities. We have assigned a person that does so on a constant basis.

Although Covid-19 is a serious issue, we strongly believe that it will pass and hopefully make our infrastructure and our ability to deal with pandemics in this Country even better than it currently is. We are monitoring this situation on a real-time basis and will not sit back until we know that we have done everything possible to avoid unnecessary exposure.
