Does CoolSculpting Work for Gynecomastia?

CoolSculpting male breast

If you are a man living with enlarged breasts (called gynecomastia), you should first know that this condition is more common than most people think. Men all over the world suffer from this condition, which results in too much male breast tissue and/or excessive fat deposits in the chest area. This can not only be uncomfortable but demoralizing as well. While gynecomastia can have a profound effect on the quality of a man's life and self-esteem (particularly in teens), there is no reason for anyone to suffer. With advancing cosmetic treatments, there are more options than ever to change the appearance of the male breast and improve the self-confidence of any man suffering from gynecomastia.

Among the latest innovations in tissue reduction is CoolSculpting. CoolSculpting is a remarkable new procedure that is approved by the FDA to reduce the appearance of fat tissue on the body. Because of this, CoolSculpting has experienced a swell of popularity. From CoolSculpting men's love handles to the reduction of belly fat, this powerful treatment is effective and noninvasive. With all this, you may wonder, does CoolSculpting work for gynecomastia?

To answer that question, it is important to first understand the way CoolSculpting works. CoolSculpting is a nonsurgical procedure that gets rid of fat by using controlled cooling to eliminate its appearance. Essentially, CoolSculpting freezes away fat tissue in an easy, noninvasive procedure that can attack even the most stubborn fat deposits. However, there is a critical difference between fat tissue and other types of tissue found throughout the body. CoolSculpting is not as effective against denser tissue like that found in the human breast. Because of this, CoolSculpting man breast tissue may not be fully effective in some cases and is considered an off-label use of this technology.

Even though CoolSculpting may not be a definitive cure, it is often a useful tool for those who deal with this difficult condition. In many cases, fat tissue may be a compounding factor in gynecomastia. Therefore, men may see positive results by using CoolSculpting in that area. In fact, CoolSculpting can be a good place to start for a cosmetic overhaul since it is nonsurgical and has virtually no recovery time. Many men use CoolSculpting for gynecomastia while targeting other parts of their body at the same time. If more reduction is still needed, other treatments can be used at a later time.

Ultimately, it is important to discuss CoolSculpting for gynecomastia and other potential treatments with a certified aesthetic professional. This way, it is possible to create a cosmetic plan to deal with gynecomastia and reclaim your confidence and your life. Schedule a consultation and find out if CoolSculpting is right for you.

New protocols for office visits View Update

New protocols for office visits

May 12th, 2020

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted many changes to your normal office visit. These changes have been introduced to protect everyone’s health and safety during your visit. All of our staff have been tested for COVID-19 and are negative. They are being monitored daily as well and will be practicing safety guidelines.

  1. If you are sick, do not come to the office. Call our front desk and we will reschedule your appointment promptly once you’re healthy again.
  2. Please wear a mask to your appointment.
  3. Do not bring someone else with you to your appointment. They will not be able to enter the office and wait for you. The only exceptions are for those who require medical assistance or translation assistance. Additionally, please do not bring any pets to the office with you.
  4. The day before your appointment, as in the past, you will be called to confirm your appointment. During that call you will be asked if you have any symptoms like fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste. You will also be asked if you have been recently exposed to COVID-19 or have been traveling on a commercial airplane within the last 2 weeks.
  5. When you arrive for your appointment, please call the office from your car. A staff member will either tell you to come up to the office at that time or will ask you to wait in your car until they text you to come up. Before entering the front door of the office, you will be met by a staff member who will take your temperature with a no-touch forehead thermometer to be sure you don’t have a fever. They will again ask you if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. You will be given a mask if you don’t have one, as well as hand sanitizer since you touched the doorknob to enter the office. We will stagger appointments so that on the day of your treatment, you will not interact with any other patients.
  6. You will be taken directly to an exam room which has been cleaned and disinfected just prior to your arrival. There are also air filtration machines installed in each exam room which sterilize the air.
  7. Our medical assistants, who will be wearing N95 masks and protective eye shields, will take your history and prepare you for your visit. You will be asked to sign a new COVID-19 consent form in addition to any of the usual consent forms you may be used to.
  8. After your treatment, you will check out while in the exam room and any products you purchase will be brought to you. If you give us your credit card information the day before your appointment, we can handle the checkout without physically touching your card.
  9. Please try to make your follow up appointments during your office visit. With new scheduling changes and staggered appointments, last minute appointments may be difficult to schedule.
