How does Mesotherapy for hair restoration work?

mesotherapy for hair restoration

Thinning hair and a receding hairline are unpleasant to deal with at any age. Bald spots or a loss of volume in your hair can be embarrassing and frustrating, especially if you are noticing these signs at a young age. Because a full head of hair is so closely tied to youthfulness and vitality, a receding hairline can make you look older than you are. Hair regrowth usually involves extremely invasive treatments like hair transplants or surgical grafting. These options often sound unappealing due to the long recovery time and potential complications associated with surgery. This is why mesotherapy for hair restoration is quickly gaining popularity as a non-invasive alternative to hair transplants.

Mesotherapy for Hair Restoration Without Surgery

Mesotherapy is a revolutionary hair loss treatment that is used extensively in Europe, South America and the United States to trigger hair regrowth for men and women.

The procedure works by injecting a customized mixture of nutrients and materials about a millimeter under your scalp into the mesoderm, or middle layer, of your skin where the hair follicles are located. This mixture is designed to stimulate hair growth.

What to Expect During Your Mesotherapy Consultation

Because male hair loss and hair thinning in women can be attributed to a few different factors, your personalized mesotherapy consultation is the most important step of this process.

Every person who comes in for a mesotherapy consultation will be fully analyzed and have a complete medical history taken in order to find out the most likely cause of hair loss. Once the analysis is completed, a uniquely customized solution will be formulated with the most beneficial nutrients and pharmacological compounds to treat your issues.

What to Expect During Your Hair Restoration Treatment

The specialist you visit for your consultation will be able to walk you through the specifics of your treatment. However, the overall process is the same for most patients.

Depending on the size of the treatment area, each session can take as little as 20 minutes. The treatment specialist will use an extremely fine needle, similar to the ones used for dermal fillers like Botox, to make quick, shallow injections into your scalp about an inch apart to deliver the medication. Once your session is complete, you will be able to go about your day normally with no recovery time.

Typically, a series of at least 10 treatments is necessary to trigger hair regrowth for men. These treatments can be scheduled weekly or bi-weekly according to the recommendation given at your initial consultation. Noticeable hair growth can be seen around the two- or three-month mark, and once the new growth is established, you will only need maintenance treatments every few months.

New protocols for office visits View Update

New protocols for office visits

May 12th, 2020

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted many changes to your normal office visit. These changes have been introduced to protect everyone’s health and safety during your visit. All of our staff have been tested for COVID-19 and are negative. They are being monitored daily as well and will be practicing safety guidelines.

  1. If you are sick, do not come to the office. Call our front desk and we will reschedule your appointment promptly once you’re healthy again.
  2. Please wear a mask to your appointment.
  3. Do not bring someone else with you to your appointment. They will not be able to enter the office and wait for you. The only exceptions are for those who require medical assistance or translation assistance. Additionally, please do not bring any pets to the office with you.
  4. The day before your appointment, as in the past, you will be called to confirm your appointment. During that call you will be asked if you have any symptoms like fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste. You will also be asked if you have been recently exposed to COVID-19 or have been traveling on a commercial airplane within the last 2 weeks.
  5. When you arrive for your appointment, please call the office from your car. A staff member will either tell you to come up to the office at that time or will ask you to wait in your car until they text you to come up. Before entering the front door of the office, you will be met by a staff member who will take your temperature with a no-touch forehead thermometer to be sure you don’t have a fever. They will again ask you if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. You will be given a mask if you don’t have one, as well as hand sanitizer since you touched the doorknob to enter the office. We will stagger appointments so that on the day of your treatment, you will not interact with any other patients.
  6. You will be taken directly to an exam room which has been cleaned and disinfected just prior to your arrival. There are also air filtration machines installed in each exam room which sterilize the air.
  7. Our medical assistants, who will be wearing N95 masks and protective eye shields, will take your history and prepare you for your visit. You will be asked to sign a new COVID-19 consent form in addition to any of the usual consent forms you may be used to.
  8. After your treatment, you will check out while in the exam room and any products you purchase will be brought to you. If you give us your credit card information the day before your appointment, we can handle the checkout without physically touching your card.
  9. Please try to make your follow up appointments during your office visit. With new scheduling changes and staggered appointments, last minute appointments may be difficult to schedule.
