IPL Photofacial Procedure: An Overview

Beverly Hills IPL PhotoFacial Pictures

Want to get rid of hyperpigmentation, sun damage, acne scars and blotchy redness? With a treatment called Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), you can say goodbye to blemishes and say hello to smoother, younger-looking skin. This is a great procedure for your face, chest and hands.

What's Involved in the IPL Photofacial Procedure?

This treatment usually takes about 30-45 minutes and is performed by a licensed registered nurse or nurse practitioner who is also certified to perform this procedure. The skin is treated with intense pulses of light that go deep into the skin. This causes a contraction of blood vessels below the epidermis. This, in turn, reduces age lines, sun damage and redness. IPL Photofacial reviews in the Beverly Hills area are exceptionally positive.

What Happens During A Photofacial Treatment?

The skin is treated with high energy light waves that stimulate the production of collagen. Collagen is a natural protein that fills in fine lines and wrinkles so the skin looks smoother. To achieve maximum results, a series of treatments are performed which can vary by patient and condition ranging from 3-5 and yearly maintenance. Pre-treating your skin with retinols or lightening agents is highly recommended prior to the treatment.

What are the Photofacial Benefits?

IPL photofacial treatment is a gentle rejuvenation procedure that can deliver healthy-looking and radiant skin. The benefits of the procedure develop gradually in the weeks following treatment, and the treatments are particularly effective on sun damaged skin, red, blotchy skin and skin discolorations.

It is important that clients understand exactly what the LED photofacial procedure can deliver. For the right candidates, treatments can improve skin texture, eliminate blotchy redness, reduce the size of pores, get rid of discolorations and minimize fine lines and wrinkles. Treatments of IPL photofacial for acne can deliver particularly dramatic results. Most photofacial reviews are very positive.

On the other hand, this procedure will not eliminate deep facial wrinkles. Potential patients are advised to look at IPL photofacial pictures and research IPL Photofacial Wiki for more detailed information.

Are There any IPL Photofacial Side Effects?

Ideal candidates for this treatment have white, untanned skin that still has some elasticity. There is minimal discomfort and no downtime. There may be some swelling and redness for a few hours after treatment, but this clears up quickly.

What does the IPL Photofacial Cost?

LED photofacial treatment costs less than other common procedures like cosmetic surgery or laser skin treatments. The total cost will depend on the severity of the problems and the number of treatments needed to obtain the desired result.

What's Involved in Photofacial Aftercare?

Because the treatment causes little damage to the skin, the recovery time is very short. There is some degree of redness immediately after treatment which typically clears up within a few hours. Post-treatment, patients are advised to stay out of the sun for several days and to wear sunscreen for two weeks.

New protocols for office visits View Update

New protocols for office visits

May 12th, 2020

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted many changes to your normal office visit. These changes have been introduced to protect everyone’s health and safety during your visit. All of our staff have been tested for COVID-19 and are negative. They are being monitored daily as well and will be practicing safety guidelines.

  1. If you are sick, do not come to the office. Call our front desk and we will reschedule your appointment promptly once you’re healthy again.
  2. Please wear a mask to your appointment.
  3. Do not bring someone else with you to your appointment. They will not be able to enter the office and wait for you. The only exceptions are for those who require medical assistance or translation assistance. Additionally, please do not bring any pets to the office with you.
  4. The day before your appointment, as in the past, you will be called to confirm your appointment. During that call you will be asked if you have any symptoms like fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste. You will also be asked if you have been recently exposed to COVID-19 or have been traveling on a commercial airplane within the last 2 weeks.
  5. When you arrive for your appointment, please call the office from your car. A staff member will either tell you to come up to the office at that time or will ask you to wait in your car until they text you to come up. Before entering the front door of the office, you will be met by a staff member who will take your temperature with a no-touch forehead thermometer to be sure you don’t have a fever. They will again ask you if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. You will be given a mask if you don’t have one, as well as hand sanitizer since you touched the doorknob to enter the office. We will stagger appointments so that on the day of your treatment, you will not interact with any other patients.
  6. You will be taken directly to an exam room which has been cleaned and disinfected just prior to your arrival. There are also air filtration machines installed in each exam room which sterilize the air.
  7. Our medical assistants, who will be wearing N95 masks and protective eye shields, will take your history and prepare you for your visit. You will be asked to sign a new COVID-19 consent form in addition to any of the usual consent forms you may be used to.
  8. After your treatment, you will check out while in the exam room and any products you purchase will be brought to you. If you give us your credit card information the day before your appointment, we can handle the checkout without physically touching your card.
  9. Please try to make your follow up appointments during your office visit. With new scheduling changes and staggered appointments, last minute appointments may be difficult to schedule.
