Transgender Beauty Tips

los angeles transgender beauty tips

The journey of transitioning can be a challenge. While facial feminization surgery and other surgical cosmetic procedures are long-term solutions, it may not be financially or socially feasible until later in your transition. However, the constant upkeep of a more feminine appearance can be daunting. Skin care, makeup, dressing and the removal of unwanted body hair can take up a lot of time in addition to being uncomfortable or painful. Fortunately, there are plenty of less-invasive procedures available to help make sure your body matches your identity. Here are our top transgender beauty tips and tricks.

Top 4 Transgender Beauty Tips from Lasky Aesthetics

Get Smooth Skin with Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a safe, non-surgical procedure that can be applied to your face, chest, back, arms, legs, feet and neck to help transgender patients permanently remove unwanted hair. It is one of the most popular transgender beauty treatments available, and it can even be used on your bikini line or the hairline of your scalp to create a more feminine appeal. Laser hair removal can be used to completely remove hair over several sessions or to simply thin out hair, and our practice offers transgender friendly laser hair removal services to patients in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Melt Away Fat Deposits With CoolSculpting

If you are considering liposuction but only have a few problem areas, CoolSculpting may be able to get you the results you want without surgery. Love handles, flabby thighs and stubborn tummy pouches can be sculpted away without anesthesia or a single incision. This can help you get the contours you want for a trim, shapely female silhouette. Keep in mind that CoolSculpting is only used for fat reduction on small, stubborn areas and isn't an alternative for weight loss.

Eliminate Rough Skin With Laser Resurfacing

If your skin is rough, blemishes and imperfections tend to stand out. Laser skin resurfacing helps regenerate your skin and give it a soft, healthy glow. If you feel your tough skin makes you look masculine, resurfacing can help you make a positive change. Using good skin care products, being careful with hair removal and having laser resurfacing are not only excellent transgender beauty tips but also part of any good skincare routine.

Feminize Your Face With Botox & Fillers

One of the best-kept transgender beauty tips is to use Botox and facial fillers to smooth wrinkles and create a more feminine appearance. These injections can be used on the jawline, temples, cheeks, lips and even the forehead to create a softer, smoother appearance. Injectables are only a temporary solution, of course, but they can help you in several ways. First, they will allow you to see the differences you want to make in your face before you take permanent, surgical steps. Second, you can achieve a more feminine look while waiting for feminization surgery. Even after facial feminization surgery, many patients continue to come for fillers as they look more natural than facial implants and keep them looking young.

New protocols for office visits View Update

New protocols for office visits

May 12th, 2020

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted many changes to your normal office visit. These changes have been introduced to protect everyone’s health and safety during your visit. All of our staff have been tested for COVID-19 and are negative. They are being monitored daily as well and will be practicing safety guidelines.

  1. If you are sick, do not come to the office. Call our front desk and we will reschedule your appointment promptly once you’re healthy again.
  2. Please wear a mask to your appointment.
  3. Do not bring someone else with you to your appointment. They will not be able to enter the office and wait for you. The only exceptions are for those who require medical assistance or translation assistance. Additionally, please do not bring any pets to the office with you.
  4. The day before your appointment, as in the past, you will be called to confirm your appointment. During that call you will be asked if you have any symptoms like fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste. You will also be asked if you have been recently exposed to COVID-19 or have been traveling on a commercial airplane within the last 2 weeks.
  5. When you arrive for your appointment, please call the office from your car. A staff member will either tell you to come up to the office at that time or will ask you to wait in your car until they text you to come up. Before entering the front door of the office, you will be met by a staff member who will take your temperature with a no-touch forehead thermometer to be sure you don’t have a fever. They will again ask you if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. You will be given a mask if you don’t have one, as well as hand sanitizer since you touched the doorknob to enter the office. We will stagger appointments so that on the day of your treatment, you will not interact with any other patients.
  6. You will be taken directly to an exam room which has been cleaned and disinfected just prior to your arrival. There are also air filtration machines installed in each exam room which sterilize the air.
  7. Our medical assistants, who will be wearing N95 masks and protective eye shields, will take your history and prepare you for your visit. You will be asked to sign a new COVID-19 consent form in addition to any of the usual consent forms you may be used to.
  8. After your treatment, you will check out while in the exam room and any products you purchase will be brought to you. If you give us your credit card information the day before your appointment, we can handle the checkout without physically touching your card.
  9. Please try to make your follow up appointments during your office visit. With new scheduling changes and staggered appointments, last minute appointments may be difficult to schedule.
