Ultherapy FDA Approved Uses

Just about everyone is talking about one of the newest non-invasive treatments available for facial anti-aging called Ultherapy. Ultherapy has been approved by the FDA for non-surgical skin tightening using ultrasound technology and is a favorite of local celebrities, such as the beautiful and forever youthful Courteney Cox.

Using ultrasound impulses, the foundational layer of your skin is targeted to trigger your body's natural regenerative response. When that response is activated, there are three main effects it produces for younger looking skin:

  • Lifting: One of the approved uses for Ultherapy is to lift your skin; this is what Ulthera refers to as an uplift. This is partially caused by the skin tightening. However, the regenerative response brought on by the ultrasound impulses causes more collagen production. When the foundational layer rebuilds itself and regenerates collagen, the result is a fuller look in your face.
  • Tightening: In addition to lifting your skin, Ultherapy also tightens skin. Once again, collagen production is contributing to the process as it also increases the skin’s elasticity. When your skin regains its elasticity, wrinkles and lines become smoother. The lifting and tightening properties of collagen make Ultherapy a good choice for sagging skin around your neck, chin, cheeks and eyebrows.
  • Toning: Ultherapy is also approved for toning skin. When the collagen lifts and tightens your facial skin, it also improves the tone. This does not mean every blemish or certain discolorations will disappear. However, there are laser treatments available for such issues. Ultherapy simply regenerates collagen to produce a healthier, natural glow on your skin.

Ultherapy FDA Approved Uses

Initial Ultherapy FDA approval came through in 2009 for a non-surgical eyelift. Since then, it has also received clearance from the FDA for treatment of skin on the face, neck and decolletage. Most treatment programs focus on the chin, neck and eyebrows as these are the most common areas for sagging skin due to collagen loss. As people age, the foundational layer of skin naturally starts deteriorating. Constant facial muscle movement, environmental toxins and other factors can contribute to a duller appearance and more wrinkles over time. Ultherapy helps reverse some of those changes to yield a naturally youthful look.

As this treatment only involves the use of ultrasound technology, there is no extended recovery time. Most people return to their normal activities the same day or the next day. Ultherapy may be used in addition to other types of dermal treatments for more comprehensive results. People with multiple skin issues can especially benefit from dual treatments. Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update

March 23rd, 2020

After serious consideration and in line with the recommendations of our State and Centers for Disease Control (CDC), we are closing the practice until Mid April.

Your health and well-being is our primary concern and we want to do our part to make sure that you are protected.

Effective immediately the following will occur:

  • All procedures and in-person consultations will be suspended until further notice.
  • The office will be available for Retail and PrePaid Packages as well as to answer any and all questions and concerns.
  • Virtual Consultations are available upon request.

We are constantly updating our services and staffing according to the local and national recommendations and will always place your health and well-being as our top priority.

We continue to exercise all the latest recommendations that are handed down by the CDC. These include:

  • Staff have been fully informed and trained to understand the disease process and its modes of transmission.
  • All staff, vendors and ancillary personnel are being asked to refrain from coming to this office if they have any signs or symptoms of a cold or an upper respiratory tract infection.
  • Every patient is also being asked to refrain from coming to the office if they have any symptoms.
  • We are asking our patients about any pertinent travel history.
  • Hand-washing continues to be the most important mode of prevention. Although it is a part of what we constantly do, now we are doing so with heightened vigilance and attention.
  • We have instituted a “no handshakes no hug” policy for now.
  • We have asked all vendors that any unnecessary meetings are canceled until further notice.
  • As we are an accredited medical facility, we are constantly sanitizing all surfaces. We have now vamped that up and our routine, multiple times a day, wiping down all surfaces, desks, door handles, keyboards and restroom facilities. We have assigned a person that does so on a constant basis.

Although Covid-19 is a serious issue, we strongly believe that it will pass and hopefully make our infrastructure and our ability to deal with pandemics in this Country even better than it currently is. We are monitoring this situation on a real-time basis and will not sit back until we know that we have done everything possible to avoid unnecessary exposure.
