What Causes Cellulite?

There are many myths surrounding the causes of cellulite. Being overweight, trapped toxins in the body or having poor circulation are just a few you have likely heard.

What is the true cause of cellulite? Under your skin, there are bands of tissue that connect skin to muscle. Everyone has a layer of fat between their skin and muscle; when these fat cells push through the fibrous tissue, the skin is pulled down, and you see the dimpled, lumpy effect that is characteristic of cellulite.

Why Cellulite Reduction Products Never Work

There are a dizzying number of creams and lotions marketed by beauty product companies for cellulite reduction. While these products use terms like "antioxidants," "herbal extracts" and "natural botanicals" to try to sell you their products, there is no evidence that any of them actually reduce the appearance of cellulite.

The reason for this is simple: Cellulite occurs deep in your skin, and it is impossible for any topical treatment to penetrate through the connective tissue and into the fat below the surface of your skin.

Surgical vs. Non-Surgical Cellulite Reduction Treatments

Increased patient safety and no recovery period are the main benefits of non-surgical cellulite reduction treatments. Who has time to wait for a lengthy recovery? Why put yourself at risk with surgical procedures that require making incisions and being under anesthesia? With TriPollar and Thermage, you can get the smooth skin you have always wanted without interfering with your daily routine or the dangers associated with surgical procedures.

TriPollar for Non-Surgical Cellulite Reduction

TriPollar Cellulite Reduction Before and After Photos

TriPollar treatments are a non-surgical alternative for noticeable cellulite reduction. Using radio frequency energy, TriPollar works by heating the lower layers of your skin where the collagen is located. This strengthens and regenerates collagen fibers and shrinks fat cells. The result is tightened and smoothed skin, reducing the appearance of cellulite. You will notice results immediately and be able to go about your daily activities with no downtime. Be assured that TriPollar treatments will not damage your skin.

Thermage for Non-Surgical Cellulite Reduction

Thermage cellulite reduction before and after

Thermage is a non-invasive procedure that sends pulses of radio frequency energy into the deeper layers of your skin, promoting collagen production. After a single treatment, your skin is tightened, and any unwanted dimples and lumps are smoothed. Because Thermage combines a heating and cooling effect, you can rest easily knowing that you'll feel comfortable during the procedure and that your skin is protected from damage. There is no recovery period, so you can resume your daily activities without any worries.

New protocols for office visits View Update

New protocols for office visits

May 12th, 2020

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted many changes to your normal office visit. These changes have been introduced to protect everyone’s health and safety during your visit. All of our staff have been tested for COVID-19 and are negative. They are being monitored daily as well and will be practicing safety guidelines.

  1. If you are sick, do not come to the office. Call our front desk and we will reschedule your appointment promptly once you’re healthy again.
  2. Please wear a mask to your appointment.
  3. Do not bring someone else with you to your appointment. They will not be able to enter the office and wait for you. The only exceptions are for those who require medical assistance or translation assistance. Additionally, please do not bring any pets to the office with you.
  4. The day before your appointment, as in the past, you will be called to confirm your appointment. During that call you will be asked if you have any symptoms like fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste. You will also be asked if you have been recently exposed to COVID-19 or have been traveling on a commercial airplane within the last 2 weeks.
  5. When you arrive for your appointment, please call the office from your car. A staff member will either tell you to come up to the office at that time or will ask you to wait in your car until they text you to come up. Before entering the front door of the office, you will be met by a staff member who will take your temperature with a no-touch forehead thermometer to be sure you don’t have a fever. They will again ask you if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. You will be given a mask if you don’t have one, as well as hand sanitizer since you touched the doorknob to enter the office. We will stagger appointments so that on the day of your treatment, you will not interact with any other patients.
  6. You will be taken directly to an exam room which has been cleaned and disinfected just prior to your arrival. There are also air filtration machines installed in each exam room which sterilize the air.
  7. Our medical assistants, who will be wearing N95 masks and protective eye shields, will take your history and prepare you for your visit. You will be asked to sign a new COVID-19 consent form in addition to any of the usual consent forms you may be used to.
  8. After your treatment, you will check out while in the exam room and any products you purchase will be brought to you. If you give us your credit card information the day before your appointment, we can handle the checkout without physically touching your card.
  9. Please try to make your follow up appointments during your office visit. With new scheduling changes and staggered appointments, last minute appointments may be difficult to schedule.
