Who is a Good Candidate for ThermiVa?

Everyone from the Kardashians to “The Doctors” is talking about ThermiVa, the revolutionary feminine rejuvenation treatment that uses radiofrequency technology to tighten the internal and external vaginal area. The best part? No surgery required! But who is a good candidate for ThermiVa, and who should opt for surgery instead? Here is an overview of the procedure to help you get started before you come in for your consultation.

To Thermi, or Not to Thermi: Who is a Good Candidate for ThermiVa?

Non-surgical feminine rejuvenation is an exciting concept that can help many women avoid vaginal surgery and labiaplasty, but not everyone is a good candidate for this surgical alternative. For example, patients with severe bladder prolapse are not likely to benefit from a series of ThermiVa treatments; those patients would fare better with a surgical solution with a urogynecologist. Some forms of incontinence also would need to be treated with surgery and not ThermiVa. So who is a good candidate for ThermiVa?

ThermiVa for Incontinence

Some patients with incontinence related to childbirth or simply due to the normal aging process will benefit greatly from a series of ThermiVa treatments. The radiofrequency technology increases collagen production to strengthen and tighten the skin and muscles, giving women more control.

A Long-Term Treatment for Vaginal Dryness

If you’re suffering with vaginal dryness and you’re tired of using personal lubricants (or the lubricants don’t work for you anymore), then ThermiVa can help. One of the wonderful benefits of internal vaginal tightening with radiofrequency technology is the increase in vaginal moisture that provides patients with improved comfort and increased sexual pleasure.

End the Constant Treatment for Vaginal Itching and Frequent Infections With Over-the-Counter Remedies

Are frequent infections and itching the bane of your existence? While these maladies have many causes, a loose labia or incontinence could also be partially to blame. Loose labial skin traps moisture and bacteria, allowing infections to grow and spread; incontinence also keeps the area exposed to irritating urine that can cause frequent infections and intense itching. By treating these with ThermiVa, you can reduce or eliminate the need for topical steroids, anti-fungal creams, and antibiotics.

ThermiVa for Prolapse: Solution for Mild Bladder or Rectal Prolapse

As the internal walls of the vagina lose laxity and structure, the bladder and/or rectum may begin to fall into the vagina. This is known as prolapse and can affect a patient’s quality of life, making it difficult to completely void in the restroom. This can lead to discomfort and infections. If left untreated, prolapse can become worse until surgery is the only way to correct it. If caught early enough, ThermiVa can help strengthen the vaginal wall that has lost its structural integrity, pushing everything back into place.

A Non-Surgical Feminine Sexual Dysfunction Treatment

The more we openly talk about female sexuality, the more women are learning what options are available to treat feminine sexual dysfunction. For some women, sexual pleasure has always been elusive; for others, childbirth and aging have made intercourse uncomfortable or even painful. With ThermiVa vaginal tightening, sexual pleasure can be restored or even enhanced.

New protocols for office visits View Update

New protocols for office visits

May 12th, 2020

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted many changes to your normal office visit. These changes have been introduced to protect everyone’s health and safety during your visit. All of our staff have been tested for COVID-19 and are negative. They are being monitored daily as well and will be practicing safety guidelines.

  1. If you are sick, do not come to the office. Call our front desk and we will reschedule your appointment promptly once you’re healthy again.
  2. Please wear a mask to your appointment.
  3. Do not bring someone else with you to your appointment. They will not be able to enter the office and wait for you. The only exceptions are for those who require medical assistance or translation assistance. Additionally, please do not bring any pets to the office with you.
  4. The day before your appointment, as in the past, you will be called to confirm your appointment. During that call you will be asked if you have any symptoms like fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste. You will also be asked if you have been recently exposed to COVID-19 or have been traveling on a commercial airplane within the last 2 weeks.
  5. When you arrive for your appointment, please call the office from your car. A staff member will either tell you to come up to the office at that time or will ask you to wait in your car until they text you to come up. Before entering the front door of the office, you will be met by a staff member who will take your temperature with a no-touch forehead thermometer to be sure you don’t have a fever. They will again ask you if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. You will be given a mask if you don’t have one, as well as hand sanitizer since you touched the doorknob to enter the office. We will stagger appointments so that on the day of your treatment, you will not interact with any other patients.
  6. You will be taken directly to an exam room which has been cleaned and disinfected just prior to your arrival. There are also air filtration machines installed in each exam room which sterilize the air.
  7. Our medical assistants, who will be wearing N95 masks and protective eye shields, will take your history and prepare you for your visit. You will be asked to sign a new COVID-19 consent form in addition to any of the usual consent forms you may be used to.
  8. After your treatment, you will check out while in the exam room and any products you purchase will be brought to you. If you give us your credit card information the day before your appointment, we can handle the checkout without physically touching your card.
  9. Please try to make your follow up appointments during your office visit. With new scheduling changes and staggered appointments, last minute appointments may be difficult to schedule.
