Restylane in Beverly Hills at Lasky Aesthetics & Laser Center

At Lasky Aesthetics & Laser Center in Beverly Hills, we focus on non-surgical aesthetic procedures to help patients safely achieve their desired cosmetic results for facial rejuvenation, anti-aging, and correction of dermatologic skin conditions. From simple facials to the latest cutting-edge injectable and laser treatments, our talented medical professionals at Lasky Aesthetics and Laser Center specialize in state-of-the-art, customized care in a friendly and relaxing environment. One of the many anti-aging treatments we offer is the injectable filler Restylane by Galderma.

Restylane Uses for Facial Rejuvenation and Anti-Aging

Beverly Hills Restylane

The Restylane injectable dermal filler is a safe and effective way to diminish fine lines around the mouth and nose when administered by a certified injection specialist. This popular injectable filler smooths the nasolabial folds, or the lines that span from the base of the nose down to the corners of the mouth. This dermal filler also diminishes the appearance of marionette lines that run from the corners of the mouth down to the jawline.

Some other common reasons our Beverly Hills aesthetic patients opt for these dermal filler injections are for the correction of other aesthetic complaints such as:

  • sagging jowls
  • recessive chins
  • disappearing cheekbones
  • under-eye bags

If your lips are narrow, or if they’ve lost volume with age, a newer dermal filler from the Restylane USA family of products, Restylane Silk, can increase the fullness of your lips and plump out any wrinkles or fine lines around the edges of your mouth. It’s a quick and easy solution, and the results are almost immediate, providing natural-looking lip enhancement for a more shapely mouth.

Restylane Reviews

Restylane treatments are safe, non-invasive procedures that many patients are choosing to feel and look younger and more confident. The majority of people who try them readily admit that they would do so again; Restylane reviews are overwhelmingly positive when treatments are administered by an experienced, certified injection specialist who is licensed to practice medicine, such as a nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant, or medical doctor.

Patients from across the country have generously shared their positive experiences with Restylane USA to provide feedback to both Galderma and to the public as a whole.  These real patient testimonials provide much to support the safe and effective use of this popular cosmetic dermal filler for facial rejuvenation, lip enhancement and anti-aging purposes.

Restylane Ingredients

Restylane is comprised of two major ingredients. The first is a natural sugar compound called hyaluronic acid that acts by attaching to the skin’s surface and increasing water retention. This in turn plumps the surface of the skin, increasing volume and smoothing lines. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in human and animal connective tissue where it functions to cushion cells from damage and deliver them nourishment, so it is perfectly safe.

The second component of this popular injectable filler is a patented formula called non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA). This was designed to help the skin maintain firmness and to further enhance water retention. It makes up the base of the clear gel formula.

Since Restylane is made from all natural ingredients, it is completely biodegradable and will be absorbed safely into the body over time. It also poses a very low risk of allergic reaction due to its non-animal based composition.

Pre-Procedure Consultation in our Beverly Hills Aesthetics Clinic

Restylane Los Angeles

A successfully planned and implemented cosmetic procedure cannot be rushed. Each patient has their unique goals, and these issues all must be addressed to obtain the best possible results. For this reason, an in-depth initial consultation is crucial to best serve your needs.

Education is crucial. A relaxed, confident patient is more likely to have a positive experience, and an informed patient is more likely to be relaxed and confident. You and our team at Lasky Aesthetics & Laser Center will discuss all the details of the procedure, expectations for your individual needs, and potential side effects.

Once it’s established which of the Restylane products is right for you, a comprehensive treatment plan will be drafted for you to take home and refer to. It will likely include pre-operative instructions and tips to ensure a quick and safe recovery. All patients are strongly encouraged to call us if they have any questions or concerns at any time.

The Restylane Procedure

Restylane treatment is fairly straightforward. In most cases, the patient will receive local anesthesia. The Certified Injection Specialist will then select one or several injection points for each area that’s being treated. Choosing the location and amount of each injection requires pin-point precision, and our specialists have the training and experience you expect and deserve.

The Restylane injection technique involves delivering minuscule amounts of the product using very fine needles. The good news is that small needles mean very little pain! Most treatment sessions take less than 30 minutes, usually with a follow-up session in 6-12 months.

“Casey did a great job making me feel comfortable and explained every step of the way. Went in with dark circles under the eyes and walked out already seeing a huge difference. Thank You Casey for an amazing job, can't wait to see you again.” Patient Testimonial

Common Restylane Questions & Answers

How does it work?

Restylane adds volume to the skin by replenishing its supply of hyaluronic acid that causes the tissue beneath the skin to swell. This is how it smoothes out lines and wrinkles, giving the skin a rejuvenated, more youthful appearance.

How is it administered?

A Restylane filler is administered by a Certified Injection Specialist in an office setting using a local anesthetic and very small needles.  If any other injections are to be used with this treatment, such as other dermal fillers or a neurotoxin treatment to relax forehead wrinkles (such as Botox or Dysport), those will also be administered in a similar way and with the patient’s comfort in mind.

Who is a good candidate?

As with any elective cosmetic procedure, it’s always prudent to wait until after the age of 18 to undergo any aesthetic treatment of this nature. This is not only for psychological reasons, but also because facial structure continues to change during the last years of adolescence.

Restylane risks are negligible, and most people between 18-60 are considered suitable candidates for the procedure. It’s rare for someone seeking the treatment to be turned down for medical reasons, however, some considerations must be made to ensure patient safety, such as prior reactions to ingredients contained in the injectable, allergies to lidocaine or other anesthetics, or other considerations that could prevent the safe administration of this cosmetic treatment. Anyone who wants to reduce lines and wrinkles or have fuller and more defined lips can most likely safely benefit from Restylane injections.

Is it painful?

Generally speaking, most patients find a topical anesthetic provides sufficient relief from the pain associated with a Restylane filler for facial rejuvenation. At most, people describe the sensation as mild discomfort. The majority of patients feel no pain at all.

When undergoing a lip enhancement procedure, a stronger local anesthetic is often needed, as the lip area is extremely sensitive. Some Restylane products are now available with lidocaine included, saving time – and extra needle sticks.

Can anesthesia be used?

Yes. Local anesthetics are used during Restylane procedures.  All Restylane products have the option of containing lidocaine to minimize discomfort during the treatment.  If you have a history of adverse reactions to lidocaine or any other anesthetic, be sure to inform your injection specialist.

How long does the procedure take?

Since the procedure is simple and non-invasive, most patients are in and out within 30 minutes. The amount of time each treatment takes depends on the number of injections needed, so some people are finished quicker than others.

When will I see results?

Changes are apparent almost immediately. Most people see full results within a week of having their procedure. The results are dramatic. Restylane reduces lines and wrinkles by approximately 80 percent.

How long does it last?

Restylane is not permanent, but it lasts longer than many other cosmetic fillers. The hyaluronic acid is gradually and harmlessly absorbed by your body. Restylane can last up to one year depending on the patient's age and skin condition. Most people return for follow-up treatment within 6-12 months.  You injection specialist can help you determine how often you should return for repeat treatments.

Is there any downtime?

Patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure, but are warned to avoid excessive heat and sunlight.

There may be some swelling and tenderness at the injection site(s), but this is usually fleeting. An ice pack applied to the affected area will provide relief.

How much does Restylane cost? Is it affordable?

Compared to the cost of plastic surgery, the Restylane price is a true bargain. The average cost of a syringe is $550-800 for the entire treatment, depending on the area treated. Prices also vary according to number of syringes needed and the area of the face that is being treated to achieve the outcome desired.  When you consider that these injections last for 6-12 months, the cost can break down to only $100 per month.

Who shouldn’t get this treatment?

Women who are pregnant or nursing should not get a Restylane treatment. Those with weakened immune systems or with a skin infection are also not suitable candidates for hyaluronic acid injections. Discuss your medical history during your consultation to confirm you have no medical conditions rendering you ineligible for Restylane injections, such as allergies to any of the components of filler treatment.  If you believe you’re having an allergic reaction to your Restylane injectable treatment, got to your nearest emergency room and follow-up with your injection specialist and primary care physician.

What are the potential complications?

Restylane adverse effects are very uncommon, but occasionally there are injection-related reactions such as redness, swelling, itching and pain that can linger for up to a week or more. In rare instances, the lips may swell for over a week after lip augmentation. If these symptoms persist, contact your Certified Injection Specialist.  Known Restylane side effects include swelling and redness, itching, bruising, headache and nausea.  Localized infections have been reported but are rare and can be treated with antibiotics.
